The Case Management Manager coordinates, manages and integrates the activities of the utilization/ case management. Maintains clinical documentation system for utilization management/CM. Interfaces with third party clinical payors in problem solving and dissemination of updates and information to medical staff, case managers, other employees and department director regarding acute care resource management and consumption. Supervises personnel involved in the case management process as assigned.
This is a full-time AM shift
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide effective leadership by coordinating and integrating services within their department, with other departments and with the hospital’s primary functions.
· Develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of the services.
· Develop and implement budget including processes to monitor operational and capital costs.
· Manage department human resources by: determining qualifications, competence and performance expectations; planning, implementing and monitoring staffing plans; providing orientation, in-service training and continuing education of all persons in the department and applying policies/procedures pertaining to human resources management.
· Continuously assess and improve the department’s performance by designing operational processes, monitoring performance through data, analyzing the data, implementing sustainable performance improvement, and participating in multi-disciplinary inter-departmental PI activities.
· Manage information by providing information systems and data management for department operations and performance improvement.
· Manage the environment (of care) by developing, implementing and monitoring processes to reduce and control environmental hazards and risks; preventing accidents and injuries and maintaining safe conditions for patients, staff and visitors.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing required, Master's preferred
Experience: 3-5 years of Case Management or Utilization Management
Number and Type of Employees Supervised (optional): 15 -30
Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Registered Nurse - South Carolina Licensure
Special Training: Working knowledge of information systems, PC skills, applicable knowledge of IS/SI critiera [Milliam & Roberts, InterQual, etc]
