Cancer Tumor Registrar - Medical Records Technician
Togus VAMC proudly serves Maine's veterans at a main campus in Augusta or any of six outpatient clinics. It's a modern 67-operating bed facility with general medical, surgical, intermediate and mental health beds, as well as 50 Skilled-Longer Stay beds, and a 50-bed Dementia Unit. The oldest veterans' facility in the country (est. 1866), much of its 500+ acres is natural woodland habitat for wildlife. The incumbent serves as a Cancer Program Specialist in a rural, geographically expansive VA Medical Center that provides a full range of services for diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Most medical and surgical oncology services are provided at the facility with radiation oncology services contracted with local, community hospitals or referral to larger VA Medical Centers outside the state. The work of the position supports the care and treatment given to patients with malignant conditions.
