St. John's Regional Medical Center, 266 beds, has and excellent opportunity for a Coding Coordinator. Resposibilities include coordinating the activities of the Coding and Abstracting section of the Health Information Management Department. Ensures that the patient records are accurately and completely coded and abstracted according to hospital approved/international coding schema. Ensures the proper functioning/updating of the SMART product and coding software and hardware systems. Works closely with PFS regarding Coding Edits, by making corrections and doing rebills. Assures that OSHPD Data is submitted and accepted in a timely fashion. Works closely with Corporate Coding Compliance, and arranges education programs/inservices, and audits. This position requires the knowledge and use of multiple software products to do reporting. Requires Certified Coding Specialist, Registered Health Information Technician, or Registered Health Information Administrator. Working understanding of DRG's and APC's.
