CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST - CARDIAC

St. Joseph's Hospital is looking for Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to work with departments to determine education support needs. Qualified candidates will be responsible for competency assessment and education for new and experienced staff as well as providing curriculum development, research and publication assistance. The ideal candidate possesses experience as a CNS with adult medical/surgical patient groups, with emphasis on cardiac care. Results of clinical change projects in which he/she served as a dynamic facilitator of the project are important. The ideal candidate is adept in using principles of adult learning to engage and inspire learners to be active in their development. The candidate will have been successful in clinical education using conventional and virtual (on-line) technologies, with evidence of effective mentoring skills. Our Cardiology department consists of 34 beds and maintains a nurse to patient ratio of 1:4 nurse to patient ratio that is supported with highly-qualified RNs with advanced life support training as well as cardiology, radiology and nuclear medicine technicians.
