Our client, a specialty medical device company with over 3,000 products marketed worldwide, is looking for a Buyer/Planner-Capital Equipment to purchase materials, goods and coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities · Reviews requisitions for Capital Equipment· Interviews and confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.· Plan all Capital Equipment materials within guidelines.· Plan/release work orders for final production.· Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, and examining items.· Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.· Determines method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid.· Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.· Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contacts with budgetary limitations and scope of authority.· Maintains manual or computerize procurement records, such as items and services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.· Maintains inventory records associated with final production.· Discusses defective or unacceptable goods and services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.· Expedite delivery of goods and approve invoices for payment. Required Skills, Experience and Keys to Success· B.S. in Business or related studies or equivalent experience. APICS certification a plus. · Full working knowledge of purchasing concepts. · Working knowledge of QAD or compatible ERP system. · Experience with manufacturing, and assembly processed of medical devices· Basic computer skills.
