Business System Analyst

(a pharmacy benefits manager), Walgreens Mail Service Inc., Walgreens Home Care Inc., and Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy LLC.Job Responsibilities Analyzes business and user needs, documents requirements and translates into proper system requirements specifications.  Writes detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs. Uses business and technical knowledge to participate in moderately complex reengineering system requests in order to provide automated solutions that meet/exceed both current and future business objectives. Proactively identifies system enhancements and/or application bugs, and operational areas for improvement, enhancement, upgrade, and modification to result in a more robust, interactive, user-friendly, accessible and informative business system for end-user. Interfaces with and acts as liaison between end users who have made the request and the IT group in the development, implementation, and completion of projects to support customer business requirements. Elicits information to obtain better understanding of project or to gain additional knowledge of project requirements through interviewing, meeting and/or focus groups with users and/or IT members.  Translates requirements into technical implementation plans, and then executes on those plans to provide new or improved software functionality. Identifies and/or defines business requirements and/or problems to be solved and constraints within which solutions must be developed. Ensures all change requests received have complete and accurate information. Analyzes requests against current functionality to determine viability of project. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of information technology, business processes, and industry requirements. Monitors project activities to ensure system quality and completion dates with desired results are achieved. Works closely with IT and user during entire project and product lifecycle to ensure success and completion of work. Ensures that the project design and recommended solutions are meeting needs. Communicates project status to internal and external audiences to keep project team informed. Develops and executes business test conditions, test cases and scripts. Coordinates user acceptance testing. Stays abreast of new technologies within the application community. Participates in process improvement, additional procedures, tools and techniques to further improve development and performance engineering efforts. Assists in designs of interfaces and contributes to functional design efforts.
