Business Process Analyst

Davis Vision is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer  to join our growing team.

The Manufacturing Black Belt works on a broad range of strategic and tactical initiatives and is expected to provide innovative solutions to manufacturing opportunities by applying Six Sigma methodologies. Key areas of focus are centered on driving operational speed/performance, eliminating variation/defects/waste and delivering efficiency with repeatable processes. This highly visible and dynamic position interfaces with cross-functional units and executive leadership to lead improvement projects and achieve specific measurable improvement goals. The Mfg. Black Belt integrates change management and project management that spans the lifecycle of a project from business/technical requirements analysis through implementation.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Identify, define and lead Six Sigma improvement projects to achieve quality, productivity and cost reduction in critical value streams.
2. Lead and facilitate projects by identifying and scheduling project deliverables, ensuring availability of resources, monitoring project progress and resolving challenges. Ensure projects progress on schedule, are within budget and utilize Six Sigma methodologies to achieve desired outcome.
3. Accountable for completion of projects that deliver measurable results. Expected to work hard to obtain results.
4. Develop capability, buy-in and support for Six Sigma processes in the organization.
5. Work in partnership with manufacturing units and make timely, fact-based decisions.
6. Provide expertise in technical problem solving.
7. Present data and conclusions clearly.
8. Develop and maintain technical and project documentation.
9. Conform with and abide by all federal, state and local regulations, company policies and procedures.
10. Complete additional responsibilities as required by changing business needs.

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Formal Six Sigma Black Belt training and certification required.

Experience & Background:
• Demonstrated experience as a certified Black Belt with a strong track record of delivering project results.
• Minimum three years of experience working with Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC/DFSS) within a manufacturing environment. Successful completion of 2-5 Black Belt projects.
• Project management experience mandatory.

Required Skills and Abilities:
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint fluency required) in addition to process mapping tools.
• Possess excellent leadership and facilitation capabilities, customer centricity, problem solving, data analysis skills and experience in the implementation of change initiatives, workflow simplification, process improvement and project management.
• Strong business acumen and ability to link projects with desired business results.
• Ability to influence and gain commitment at all organizational levels with emphasis on transforming manufacturing culture to adapt to improved processes and performance metrics.
• Technical aptitude to collect and analyze data for determining an improvement strategy.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and oral. Able to speak to all audiences throughout the organization. Understand the various needs of audience members and tailor the message to address their concerns.
• Change agent. Ability to lead, work with teams, be a part of a team, understand team dynamics, have good influencing skills and motivate others.
• Understand that both internal and external customers are recipients of the processes and the final judges of product or service quality.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines with little supervision.
• Sensitive to dynamic needs of the business.
• Respect in handling confidential information appropriately.
