Business Development & Marketing Manager - Healthcare

Summary:

This position reports to the Vice President, Sales and will support the Connolly Healthcare Division’s business growth.  Located in our Wilton, CT office, this position will have the ability to identify and develop strategic relationships, sell Connolly Healthcare business solutions in a consultative framework, and generate dynamic sales growth.  Connolly is a high growth organization which seeks an energetic and ambitious individual to grow with the company.  

This position will focus on growth within two segments of the healthcare industry: commercial health plans and state Medicaid. In the commercial health plan market this individual will help Connolly continue its growth by generating leads and helping to penetrate mid-sized health plans throughout the U.S. Connolly’s growth into the state Medicaid business will require the need to establish contacts and create a pipeline of potential opportunities. This individual will work closely with the Director of Business Development for Healthcare to attend to all sales and marketing related activities that support the Healthcare divisions’ needs.

Essential Functions:Phone call prospecting for commercial health plan targets to generate sales opportunities. Provide regular updates to Connolly’s senior management on progress related to business development activities. Support Connolly Healthcare in the development of sales presentations, marketing collateral and web-site development.  Research, identify and attend applicable trade shows for Connolly Healthcare with responsibility for scheduling and coordination of the event. Contact commercial health plan procurement departments to register Connolly Healthcare for all RFP opportunities. Develop sales leads in the state Medicaid market by phone prospecting, attending conferences and utilizing additional networking opportunities. Management and ownership of Connolly Healthcare Medicaid Database. Support and help manage the RFP process by developing an RFP “early warning systemâ€� which will get us on each States RFP list so that we can be notified when an RFP is issued. Assist in the planning and coordination of the annual Connolly Healthcare knowledge sharing symposium.

 Knowledge, skills and abilities: Demonstrated ability to identify, research, and penetrate the commercial health plan and Medicaid Markets. Demonstrated ability to maintain and grow client relationships over time. Demonstrated success of selling professional services. Demonstrated ability to learn and grow into new and expanded responsibilities.

Minimum qualifications:Healthcare Industry experience-required 4 year degree - BS or BA MBA – preferred 5-10 years of sales and / or business development experience Familiarity with Recovery Auditing Industry - preferred Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills Experience building and maintaining client relationships Confidence in working with senior executives Ability to travel Strong Skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel Experience using a CRM system
