SourceMedical is currently seeking a Business Analyst – Therapy Product, for its corporate headquarters location in Birmingham, AL.
Summary of Position:
As a Business Analyst, you will be a key member of the SourceMedical Product Management Team with the overall responsibility for deliverables and projects related to the development, release and positioning of next generation SourceMedical software solutions. As an individual contributor in this role, you will focus on identifying, researching, analyzing, validating and documenting business and functional requirements for specific market sector(s).
To be successful in this role, you will need excellent project management and written/verbal communication skills with the ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders as a high-performing team member.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Conducts analysis and research for product line and industry resulting in accurate business and functional requirements. Translates analysis and research data into valid use cases, business requirements, scope documentation and definitions, functional specifications and competitive intelligence documentation for use in the product development cycle.
2. Utilizes core project management skills to effectively manage projects across time span, ensuring project deliverables are timely and accurate. Follows up on all project requests with task owners to ensure closure and satisfaction with action taken or product delivered. Acts autonomously to complete work by plan deadline, seeks guidance as appropriate.
3. Uses effective communication strategies to effectively conduct needs analysis and communicate research results in clear and concise fashion. Adjusts communication strategy across written, verbal and presentation modes to match target audience (internal and external) and technical competency.
4. Effectively complies with all administrative tasks required as a Business Analyst (Examples include but are not limited to the following: active participation in meetings, creation and generation of reports, responding to internal and external correspondence and other related administrative tasks, etc.)
5. Transfer knowledge to other areas of the company including Sales, Client Services and Product Development on the features, functionality and future direction of the products.
6. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Education/Qualifications:
--BA/BS degree in Business, Healthcare, Information Technology or related area of study
--2-5 years of demonstrated work experience evaluating, defining and implementing deliverables for cross-functional, large-scale projects in a product management capacity
--Demonstrated ability in translating business and functional requirements into requirement documentation, use cases and functional specifications using industry-standard product development documentation processes.
--Demonstrated ability to successfully evaluate requirements with varying levels of complexity and communicate those requirements to technical and non-technical audiences
--Experience in contributing to the design of GUI and usability concepts that result in an intuitive user experience.
--Effective interpersonal skills (presentation, written and oral) and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of staff levels
--Experience in software development, outpatient healthcare and healthcare billing practices preferred
Travel Requirements:
--Limited to 10% travel is required.
