Primary Responsibilities: Work with the business team to extract information for the IT development team Facilitate requirement reviews and final project approvals Schedule requirements sessions with the business users/SMEs Facilitate the gathering of application/reporting requirements from various business areas through interviews, in-person, and JAD sessions Be able to ask the right questions to get to the real business needs and dive deeper into initial business requests Analyze business requests and be able to make technology needs and requirement assessments to meet the strategic direction of the organization Develop deep knowledge in specific application(s) in order to serve as an application SME to the business users Great attention to detail to ensure the application requirements meet the Create business and application requirement documentation and use cases for system development Document requirements in various methods, including process flows, activity diagrams, application and/or data flows, use case formats Document knowledge transition documentation on application changes Act as the liaison for the business segments during project development lifecycle Serving as a system SME for the application Working with the business leaders, training, production support and QA teams to understand the existing and new system functionality as needed Support quality assurance through review of test cases Assist QA group in identifying and writing test scenarios that map to the defined system requirements Support business users during the user acceptance testing phase Lead business analysts on projects Manage work efforts of other business analysts and designers (either direct reporting relationship or matrix relationships) to ensure the requirements are quality deliverables and are completed timely Develop and manage project plans and schedules for requirements phases of work Manage work effort for all requirements resources, manage timelines and dates to ensure project stays on time Work with the overall project manager to manage issues and risks throughout the requirements phase, escalating and communicating issues up as necessary Ensure process and methodologies are followed Understand the existing processes and templates/deliverables for requirements and following those standards Provide suggestions for process improvements and executing on the implementation of approved improvementsQualifications: Required:2 yrs minimum Business Analyst experience in the Health Care industry Must have excellent understanding of System/Project lifecycle (Inception, Elaboration, Construction and Transition) 2 yrs minimum in requirements gathering 2 yrs proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook specifically)Assets:Worked with HIPAA formats specifically 834 Knowledge of: • Medicaid • Medicare • PL/SQL • XML • JAVA • Use Case • Harvest • Test Director • Diamond • Facets Testing experience including documenting scenariosDiversity creates a healthier atmosphere: equal opportunity employer M/F/D/V UnitedHealth Group is a drug-free workplace.
