As a Biomedical Technician II or III you will repair, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment and instrumentation used in healthcare field. Inspects and installs medical and related technical equipment in medical and research facilities for use by physicians, nurses, scientists, or engineers involved in researching, monitoring, diagnosing, and treating physical ailments or dysfunctions. The Biomedical Technician services various equipment and apparatus, such as patient monitors, electrocardiographs, blood-gas analyzers, defibrillators, electro surgical units, anesthesia apparatus, pacemakers, blood-pressure transducers, spiro meters, sterilizers, diathermy equipment, in-house television systems, patient care computers, and other related technical paraphernalia. You will repair, calibrate, and maintain equipment, using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and knowledge of manufacturers manuals, troubleshooting techniques, and preventive-maintenance schedules. Safety-tests medical equipment and healthcare facility's structural environment to ensure patient and staff safety from electrical or mechanical hazards.May demonstrate and explain correct operation of equipment to medical personnel. Ideal candidates will possess an Associates Degree (and/or requisite industry experience)and a minimum 2 to 5 years experience servicing medical equipment in a hospital environment. Ability to analyze, trouble shoot and resolve equipment repairs is critical to success in this role. Knowledge of computers, graphics, electrical,electronic and mechanical principles required.Ability to explain and demonstrate the correct operation of biomedical equipment to medical personnel required. Knowledge of biomedical equipment preventive and corrective repair standards. .
