Billing Compliance Supervisor

Position Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: This employee serves as a member of the Genesis Physician Services (GPS) team. Direct responsibility for the efficient management of pre-determined business functions, including, but not limited to: coding and billing compliance program monitoring. RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:1. Assist GPS Compliance Coordinator with the quarterly compliance review required by the Coding and Billing Compliance Standards for all GPS providers.2. Coordinate with GPS CBO to obtain charges for required providers on a monthly basis.3. Perform medical record/documentation review of center-based charts 4. Assist Compliance Coordinator with record review to determine assignment of CPT codes.5. Maintain monthly benchmarking files for all GEPS providers.6. Attend quarterly compliance meetings, as needed.7. Perform all related duties as requested.

Qualifications:

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field, along with a minimum of three years experience in billing management preferred. Physician billing with a CPC Certification (Certified Professional Coder) through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). 2. Two or more years of supervisory experience is preferred.JOB SKILLS:1. Ability to effectively manage and motivate personnel2. Ability to identify problems and recommend appropriate actions for expeditious results3. Must have in depth knowledge of business office operations, including billing and accounts receivable4. Must be knowledgeable about Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement regulations 5. Must have basic computer skills, including knowledge of spreadsheet applications6. Must have strong mathematical, financial and analytical abilities7. Requires ability to effectively interact and communicate with employees, visitors, outside consultants, government agencies and officers of the company 8. Must have strong organizational skills9. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.10. Must be willing to travel as needed, to perform center-based chart reviews, and to attend meetings with other members of the Area supervisory team. This requirement entails possessing a valid driver’s license and an automobile with appropriate insurance coverage.11. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, while effectively managing multiple priorities with successful outcomes.PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES:The employee in this position carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required or as requested by appropriate supervisory staff.
