Bi - lingual Casework Supervisor

Easter Seals - Michigan is currently seeking a full-time Bi-lingual Casework Supervisor.  The postion requires the canidate to read, write and speak fluent English and Spanish.  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Assigns and supervises the caseload of professional staff engaged in treatment and case management services for mentally ill and/or emotionally impaired clients and their families.  Assists professional staff as required.2. Reviews cases to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of services rendered.  Conducts staff meetings to review problem areas and plan solutions.3. Assists staff in improving and updating professional skills by providing them with information such as pertinent conferences and seminars, new techniques in the field and current and pending legislation affecting mental health services.  Orients and trains new staff.4. Monitors case records, including the follow‑up and referral of clients to community agencies to aid in an accurate history.5. May also be responsible for the coordination of specific programs and projects as assigned.6. Acts as a liaison with community agencies and mental health service providers, maintaining an awareness of the full range of human services available in the community which may be appropriate for client needs.7. Instructs, assigns, schedules, checks and appraises performance.  Hires, recommends disciplinary action and discharge, and recommends pay increases and/or promotions. 8. Responsible for authorizing medically necessary services for all consumers.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social work, psychology, or related human service area. 2. Have an LMSW from the Michigan Board of Examiners of Social Workers, have a license as a professional counselor from the Michigan Board of Licensing and Regulations of Counselors, or have a limited license or be fully licensed as a Psychologist from the Michigan Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Have had at least two (2) years of full-time casework experience including 1 year in a leadership role. Able to read, write, and speak English AND Spanish. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.
