Benefits Specialist - Human Resources (#5163) FT-40 Hrs 0800-1700 (40)

Work Days: Monday-Friday, non-exempt 40 (weekly overtime) Work Hours: 0800-1700A challenging and rewarding career opportunity exists in our Human Resources department! We are currently seeking a motivated professional with prior knowledge of life & disability plans and who thrives on data analysis.  This position is responsible for administering life and disability plans and serves as first point of contact for employee/vendor eligibility questions and researches/resolves employee claims issues. Works directly with the Benefits team and HR Management to provide customer, project and system support on an ongoing and ad-hoc basis. Functions as liaison between vendors and employees.  Performs audits with Benefits Analyst and HRIS to ensure data integrity. Assists with developing processes/procedures that enable Human Resources and Salem Hospital to provide excellent customer service to clients. Perform other ad-hoc projects as assigned. Special skills, knowledge or ability: Must be able to work in a team environment, maintain confidentiality and coordinate multiple priorities; Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; Outstanding ability to resolve issues and "close the loop" with customers; Strong technical/analytical and organizational skills; must be detail oriented and accurate; Strong sense of urgency and impeccable follow-through skills; Aptitude for systems thinking, financial analysis and data analysis skills; ability to understand and interpret complex data; Excellent computer skills including work processing and PowerPoint; extremely high level of proficiency in excel, access data base, HRIS and ability to extract data through use of queries; Ability to interpret and communicate data in an easy-to-interpret manner for the end user through the use of charts, graphs, etc. Aptitude for understanding customer needs and providing proactive communication. Minimum qualifications: A minimum of an AA degree, HR Certification or equivalent work experience required. A minimum of two (2) years HR experience, preferably with a focus in benefits. Knowledge of benefit laws and regulations strongly preferred.
