Benefits/Payroll Specialist
JFSA, a large, non-profit social services agency that serves the Greater Cleveland community, is currently seeking a Benefits/Payroll Specialist for our Human Resource department. This entry-level position will be responsible for performing all administrative support and bookkeeping functions related to the day-to-day administration of all the Agency’s benefit plans including health, dental, life and pension as well as performing payroll processing support on on-going basis.
Responsibilities include processing benefit eligibility data, auditing benefit deductions and processing monthly invoice payments, assisting with orientation presentations, calculating employment status and benefit eligibility, and troubleshooting employee benefit issues. Additional responsibilities include performing both payroll and compensation support functions and serving as a primary back-up assistant to the Payroll/HRIS Specialist as needed.
This position requires at least a High School Diploma plus coursework in Business administration or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred), and at least 2-3 years of previous experience in Human Resources, Finance, or a related work environment performing administrative support and payroll processing functions using HRMS or related software (Ceridian system knowledge is a plus). Qualified applicants must also be proficient in HRMS and Windows based software, have excellent customer service skills, and have a basic knowledge of HR disciplines including benefits and compensation.
