Relevant Work Experience:: 1+ to 2 Years Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Description:Review purchase requisitions for appropriateness with regard to organizational requirements and budgets.Review purchase requisitions to determine their conformance with established policies and procedures.Reviews product or service specifications, performance terms, and/or acceptance criteria for purchases, works with Senior Buyer and/or Contract Agents in finalizing purchase orders.Identify and/or select potential sources of services or suppliesSupports the processing of competitive market assessment and assists in the development of pertinent specifications, terms, and conditions.Evaluate competitive offers to determine the total end-use cost for a product/service, using price/cost analysis and similar methods.Supports and participates in negotiations with existing and potential suppliers.Daily and/or weekly work on reducing PO/Invoice matching reports.Prepare and/or issue purchase orders, Stapleslink within departmental and institutional guidelines.Administer purchase orders and other transactions for requisition development to completion. Route, follow up and expediting of purchase orders and customer requests.Resolve purchase order and accounts payable problems with suppliers and end user customers.Handles customer and supplier inquiries regarding procurement support processesUtilizes a computerized/automated materials management system(s) which includes EDI processing and WEB based vendor direct programs.Utilizes third party decision support systems to review capital equipment and service contract purchases ECRI, MDB Information Services.Familiarizes himself/herself with the characteristics and functions of the product by utilizing reference sources and resource persons.Follows up and offers feedback to users on requisitions outstanding.Maintains documentation of sourcing with due consideration to price, quality, availability and delivery accurately.Cooperates with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the department.Other duties as requested by Manager of PurchasingEnsures proper communication and customer service throughout department.Acts as a model to department staff to demonstrate appropriate and professional manner for dealing with all customers.Respects and maintains the confidentiality of all patient, physician, and hospital related information.Cooperates and communicates in an effective, professional manner with supervisor, management, peers, general staff, physicians, other personnel.
