BILLING SUPERVISOR
Under the general supervision of the Central Billing Office (CBO) Director, the incumbent provides oversight and coordination of the CBO and assigned Specialties with net revenue of $25 million per year. Assists CBO Director in analyzing the A/R by Payor, by Specialty, and/or by biller to identify areas of concern. Proactively creates new reports and operational processes to improve the CBO. Will assist in the supervision of approximately 20 direct reports. Works with all other departments to ensure that all systems are effective and efficient for CBO operations. Works directly with physician leaders regarding billing issues and concerns. Represents CBO Director with various functions/meetings as assigned. This is an exempt management position with a high level of experience, leadership and decision-making required.
Minimum job qualifications (education, experience, certification, skills, etc):
· High School or equivalent required.
· 10 plus years of billing experience required.
· 5 years prior medical billing supervisory experience required.
· Proven ability to work effectively with staff, management and physicians.
· Proven knowledge of ICD-9 coding, CPT and modifier coding.
· Proven knowledge of Medi-Cal, CCS, and 3rd party payors with pediatric medical/surgical subspecialties.
· Proven knowledge of billing software systems
· Proven knowledge and technical skills to perform insurance follow-up with positive financial results to include accuracy, timeliness and attention to detail
· Proficient computer skills
· Proven knowledge in analytical skills when reviewing financials for client
· Strong customer service skills applied to both internal and external customers.
· Strong team orientation
· Ability to organize and manage multiple concurrent projects/priorities, motivate staff and achieve results
Preferred job qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree.
· Subspecialty billing experience.
· Coding or Billing Certificate highly preferred.
