Assistant Nurse Manager
Job Description:This entry level management position will be responsible for assisting the department manager in daily operations and staff leadership. Responsible for conducting performance evaluations and dealing with staffing issues. Assist the charge nurse with evaluation of admissions and discharges. Supervise work activities of licensed and non-licensed associates. This position will be working a percentage of time as a staff nurse. This will be a non-exempt position. Assists in communicating a shared vision, mission and values within the department. Assists with preparation of unit schedules. Establishes daily work plans for team of associates. Assists in development and achievement of departmental budgets and goals.
Identifies the need for improvements and assists in its implementation. Assists in selection of associates. Provides input in coaching and termination of associates. Conducts performance evaluations. Conduct on-the-job training and education on topics such as quality and patient satisfaction. Participates on committees as assigned. Monitors patient satisfaction.
Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care according to established standards, policies and procedures. Maintains an atmosphere that supports and encourages high performance, teamwork and continual improvement of associates. Assist with payroll activities such as timekeeping. Assist with patient flow for the unit. Serves as Charge Nurse when appropriate. Any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:Associate degree in nursing required. Bachelor’s degree or pursuing bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Current Texas RN License is required. CPR/BLS Certified. Must be able to demonstrate leadership abilities and CHRISTUS Core Values.
