Assistant Director, Hospital Contracting / 445
Occupation:General/Other: Medical/Health Position Description:JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, identifies, evaluates opportunities, negotiates optimal reimbursement rates, and drafts individual contracts hospitals and healthcare systems in assigned territory to ensure patients superior access to the highest quality, cost-effective providers of healthcare services within assigned territory in accordance with applicable regulations and Viant policies, practices and procedures. Territory size: 1 – 3 states. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary Functions: • Identifies hospital/healthcare systems for Viant’s network of facilities’ providers. • Negotiates hospital/health systems contracts to support network access standards, unit cost and unit cost trend objectives relative to benchmark competitors through comprehensive, aggressive execution of territory specific contracting goals derived from national and regional objectives related to access, fixed rate reimbursement methodologies, reduced unit cost and improved contractual terms.• Prepares reports and presentations by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.• Complies with national and regional contract compliance and standardization initiative, contract implementation requirements, credentialing and provider relations activities, including regional and local market communications• Partners with Health Care Economics to conduct financial analyses and monitoring of medical spend databases to identify, develop and implement group provider contracting/network management and rate schedule actions to achieve targeted/budgeted results and to address area of risk and opportunity • Ensures regulatory compliance with state regulation for network configuration and use of approved contract documents in support of existing and proposed product portfolio.• Works with Regional Sales and Accounts Management Peers to respond to and anticipate access requirements and network related performance guarantees. Uses information derived from Requests For Proposals (RFP) to assess network adequacy and competitiveness in region.• Complies with mandatory training programs requirements, including Human Resources, product orientation and contracting tools and resources.• Performs other duties as assignedQualifications:EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:4 year college degreeJOB RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:• 5-7 years experience in provider contracting and network development• 3+ years of management experience• Strong financial analysis experience• Prior budget and expense management experienceJOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:• Financial analysis • Established negotiation and project management skills• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation/public speaking• Report generation • Some travel required Location: Alpharetta, GA 30005 Job Status/Type: Full Time, Employee Career Level: Executive (SVP, VP, Department Head, etc) Job RefCode: 445
