Application Systems Analyst

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Applications Systems Analyst is responsible for all the application IS concerns throughout LMC specifically concerning EMR application.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, build, train, implement, the EMR (EpicCare Ambulatory) application.
Work cross-functionally with other teams to ensure the application operates efficiently.
Answer phone calls related to the use of EpicCare Ambulatory and /or business process related to EMR and other applications (tier 2 support).
Assist users in resolving issues with computers and/or peripheral devices in the use of the EMR application.
Serve as a resource to critical task forces or advisory committees.

OTHER DUTIES and ABILITIES:
Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Other duties as assigned.
Work with Vendors in the design of interfaces and conversion specifications.
Understand, articulate and use LMC Project Methodology in the management and organization of clinical projects.

Excellent oral and written communication skills
Training/instructional skills
EMR experience; EpicCare Ambulatory certification a plus


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate Degree (Bachelor's degree preferred) or a degree in any of the following areas, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Business or Nursing.
5 Years work experience, 2 years in the areas of:
Clinical application implementation
Clinical application analysis
Clinical application training and/or support
Experience in the following computer software: Epic EpicCare Ambulatory, Ms office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Visio) GE/IDX Centricity Business, Lotus notes and Novell.
