The Application Systems Administrator and Engineer will be responsible for application installation, administration & support work. The Enterprise Application suite consists of Pharmacy and Point of Sale applications.The primary role will consist of deployment, administration tasks and production support. Will will also expect this individual to provide Level 2 production support, work in shifts, and at times on weekends. Their are 2 primary technical Stacks. One consists of Java swing client, WebLogic, Oracle RDBMS; the other WebSphere and Oracle based with AIX and some Suse Linux platforms

This an exciting opportunity to be part of an enterprise wide Pharmacy Information Management System deployment, spanning across the entire Kaiser enterprise. This is a mega project with a budget of 250 million dollars.

General requirements :
* Systems administration and maintenance
* Monitoring various components and applications for trend analysis and continuous availability.
* Building/deploying and support new systems as our environment expands.
* Participate in Design Reviews and Cross testing as needed.
* Provides technical solutions to enhance system functionality.
* Provide rotating shift coverage and be a part of 24x7 on-call support for non-production and production system monitoring schedule as needed.

The selected individual will be trained in various technical components of PIMS(Pharmacy Information Mgt Systems).

Technical requirements :
WebLogic administration - installation, application configuration, monitoring and support
shell scripting, PERL
AIX, Suse Linux knowledge (as a App administrator and not as expert AIX or LX administrator)
knowledge of n-tier application architecture, including understanding of application JVMs running on AIX/Suse Linux
ability to coordinate delivery by partnering with all concerned
ability to follow strict change control and disciplined process
any enterprise application administration experience
ability to automate application installation tasks
exposure to large scale operations (more than 100 Oracle databases)
ability to work in cross-functional, matrixed teams
ability to document technical procedures and guides
at least 5 year experience in relevant technologies

Candidates should have some experinence with :
Preferred Qualifications:
managing JVM on AIX (or other Unix flavors)
monitoring tools
Java programming, SOA concepts
development Oracle DBA experience
experience in scaling an application for enterprise needs
WebSphere Administration or other relevant training and certifications
experience in working at large organization, or as a consultant on large scale projects
