Application Integration Specialist Senior

Job Description Senior Application Integration Specialist is responsible for the design, coding, implementation, and support of enterprise-wide application interfaces. These responsibilities involve working with clients and vendors to develop detailed interface specifications and programming requirements to support their business needs. Application interfaces are developed with integration software tools (a.k.a. interface engines) to support these business needs.

ACL Integration provides application integration analysis, design, engineering, and development in support of ACL Labs, Aurora Health Care (AHC), and Advocate Health Care (EHC) (the Advocate system is located throughout the Chicago Metro Area) business objectives. The Application Integration Specialist job family uses corporate, regional, and departmental business processes and information systems to improve workflow, increase quality, and decrease costs across the ACL, AHC, EHC Enterprise. The solution offerings include Web Application Development, Enterprise Application Integration, Web Services Technologies, Open Source Technologies, Java Technologies (J2EE), and Secure Transport Technolgies across the Internet.

The Ideal Candidate will have a strong background in an organized, structured IT environment and is accustomed to adhering to business requirements. The ideal candidate is accustomed to good documentation practices, quality-based coding practices (such as cyclomatic complexity (McCabe)), and quality system adherence (such as Six Sigma, LEAN, or CMMI).

General Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field. Equivalent technical training with relevant experience will also be considered.

Note: Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering experience is desirable but not required.

Minimum five (5) years of relevant technical experience in a combination of the following:
- Application integration utilizing interface engine technology. Examples include: Sun eGate, Quovadx Cloverleaf, Cerner Open Engine, and IBM WebSphere MQ Series.
- Thorough understanding of industry standard message formats. Examples include: HL/7, X12, or XML.
- Full life-cycle application development utilizing I.T. methodologies. Programming language examples include: Java (J2EE), COBOL, TCL, CCL or Perl.
- Experience with or strong understanding of Services Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Experience with operating systems (Unix), communication protocols (TCP/IP, FTP, SFTP, SSL, HTTP. HTTPS), relational databases (MySQL, MS SQL), or network management.
