Advanced Practice Nurse-Gastroenterology

Become part of a Strong APN team!!! This exciting opportunity is M- F day shift. This positon will support our Outpatient GI Practice. There are currently 60 Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) practicing in over 25 various subspecialty divisions at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. Each APN is responsible for an area of specialized nursing practice, and provides direct and indirect care to patients and their families in the inpatient, ambulatory, and outpatient setting. APNs practice collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals to provide quality health care to children. APNs at the duPont Hospital for Children are supported to obtain prescriptive authority and are credentialed as affiliate members of the medical staff. The APN benefits from a collaborative practice model with direct reports to both the subspecialty division and the Department of Nursing. APNs have the opportunity to meet as a group bimonthly with the APN Manager at the APN Council Meeting for networking, information sharing and educational offerings. APNs support the professional development of the nursing staff by sharing their clinical expertise through staff nursing education, consultation and committee participation. APNs are encouraged to further their professional development through outside educational programs, research and publication. A. Education, Training and Experience1. Master of Science in Nursing.2. Five years of related clinical experience.B. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications1. Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Delaware, PA2.
