Instead, all of our revenue is used to provide patient care and to support our policy to provide care regardless of a patient's financial circumstances.Sutter VNA & Hospice is committed to being the “employer of choiceâ€� through competitive wages and benefits, flexible schedules, new technologies including laptop computerized charting, tuition reimbursement, and more!POSITION SUMMARY:  The Home Health and Hospice Commercial/Medi-Cal A/R Representative submits accurate claims to government and non-government carriers and various third party payors according to applicable rules, regulations, and existing contracts.  The incumbent ensures the appropriate coding structure to maximize reimbursement.  Acts as a resource person and liaison between patient, third party payers and agency regarding questions and concerns relating to billing.  The incumbent performs a variety of collection, patient account follow-up and patient account maintenance functions in order to maximize cash flow and acts as a resource person and liaison to patients regarding questions related to billing.   REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:  The Account Representative reports to the Billing Supervisor #1. The incumbent may receive work direction guidance as it relates to special projects from the Director.   MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:    Education:  Graduation from high school or the equivalent in education and experience is preferred.   Experience:  Previous seasoned patient accounting or claims processing experience is required.  Previous billing and/or collection experience preferably in a physician's office, hospital, or billing company is required.  Computer experience from a user's perspective is required.   Knowledge:  Must be familiar with HCPC and ICD9 coding for SN, PT, ST, OT, MSW, HHA and Hospice.  Basic bookkeeping principles, general business procedures, knowledge of collection and billing rules and regulations are required. Medical terminology is desired.  Knowledge of HMO, PPO, capitated, Medicare and Medi-Cal billing guidelines and regulations, including but not limited to filing limits on submissions and appeals, is required. Understanding of Hospice and Home Health regulations is strongly desired. Knowledge of the Horizon (McKesson) billing system and Medicare DDE is strongly desired.   Special Skills/Equipment:  Typing at 40 wpm, the ability to use 10 key adding machine by touch, CRT and various office machines are also required.  The incumbent must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, have accuracy and pay attention to detail. Incumbent must also be analytical, a self-motivator, and be able to multitask.
