Accounts Receivable Manager

Job Summary: The Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager manages accounts receivables and provides oversight to the AR team with the goal of maximizing timely receipt of customer payments and providing meaningful, timely information to management regarding status of accounts. The A/R manager works closely with the financial operations team to understand contract terms and ensure compliance from a billing perspective; specifically, obtaining billing terms and milestones from contracts in order to facilitate and/or provide timely and accurate billings. This position researches and resolves A/R issues and trains, leads, and empowers AR staff to conduct level I collection efforts to delinquent customer accounts, provide documentation of level I collection efforts within the AR module, generate and post billings for named markets, and load billed revenue templates into the Oracle AR module.Principal Duties and Responsibilities1. Maintain policies and procedures in line with Healthways established policies for the accounts receivable process. Continuously improve process design to achieve simplification, standardization, accuracy, and cost minimization.2. Lead, direct and empower AR staff (5-6) 3. Coordinate the input of accounts receivable, billing, credit and level I collection information.4. Research and resolve invoice discrepancies.5. Maintain checklist with customer invoices to ensure timely and accurate billing.6. Ensure accurate and timely load of billed revenue templates into the AR module, for subsequent posting to the GL.7. Oversee cash application process.8. Provide AR reports as defined and requested, including aging reports.9. Generate 60 day over $100K aging report with account status updates.10. Provide support to Operations Finance Directors to identify and help resolve AR issues.11. Support business controls compliance for Sarbanes-Oxley and ensure duty segregations are adhered to.12. Active participation in process narrative and control matrix updates for Sarbanes-Oxley ensuring that accounting policies and procedures are adhered to.13. Maintain documentation of accounts receivable processes. Coordinate and oversee Oracle system testing as it relates to the accounts receivable function.14. Evaluate all job functions within the accounts receivable department to achieve structural design that promotes smooth, efficient and accurate processing of invoices and subsequent collection.15. Serve as end user specialist and functional owner of the Oracle Accounts Receivable ModuleCritical Success Factors:1. Manage multiple tasks effectively at the same time.2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.2. At least five years experience in accounts receivable and collection functions.3. Prefer work experience with the Oracle Accounts Receivable module.4. Demonstrated results of prior process improvements and knowledge of internal controls.5.
