Accession Lab Clerk, Lead
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a world renowned organization dedicated to the progressive control and cure of cancer through programs of patient care, research, and education.
Coordinates the daily work of eight accessioning clerks in the Clinical Chemistry and Hematology laboratories. Responsible for pre-analytical quality control aspects of the lab as well as the maintenance of data, requisitions and results in accordance with regulatory standards. Maintains competency in the clerical and related work of these laboratories, which includes specimen accessioning and handling, record keeping, telephone coverage, and other related duties.
High School Diploma. Associate Degree preferred. 4 years experience in hospital setting (procedural and operational activities) preferred. Excellent computer skills and data entry. Good oral and written communication skills. Responsible for rotational weekend and holiday work and evening shift coverage. Hours: rotating shifts from 7:00AM-8:00PM, occasional 4:00PM-12Midnight and Midnight to 8:00AM. Monday-Friday w/occasional weekend.
