APN Heart & Vascular Clinical Nurse Specialist

Job Description:Functions autonomously and in collaboration with the health care team as an advanced practitioner, consultant, leader, educator and researcher. The CNS provides clinical expertise to patients, their families, health care professionals and the community requesting or requiring support in the diagnosis of human responses to actual or potential life processes. The CNS takes an active role in developing strategies to positively impact resource utilization in area of the cardiovascular thoracic specialty
-Demonstrates advanced skills through educational, consultant, quality improvement, research and direct patient care activities. Job Requirements:Significant experience in Cardiac Services, program development, outcome / results oriented, strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with physicians & surgeons as well as the staff nurses. Must be Master's prepared, > 2 years CNS experience, national certification preferred.
