Systems Engineer/Test Engineer (SE2)

Develop, manage, and execute test procedures for both an underlying software framework and the components that live on top of it. Interact with component designers to develop test procedures based on functional specifications, component developers to ensure adherence of components to functional specifications, framework developers to ensure that the framework operates as described, and external system owners to address performance and API adherence.

Required Skills: Well versed in functional testing, stress testing, and regression testing Experience developing detailed test procedures that adequately test both the described functionality and the edge cases. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Able to engage both technical and non-technical people in highly interactive dialogs. Experience with bug tracking software

 

Desirable Skills:Experience developing non-trivial software applications Comfortable with the Unix/Linux environment and related command line commands Comfortable reading the source code of component developers Experience with one or more scripting languages, preferable Perl Solid knowledge of version control software (esp. Subversion)
