Stormwater Services Director

 

The City of Concord, NC, is seeking a highly motivated and energetic person to serve as Stormwater Services Director. The position reports to the Deputy City Manager.  This class is responsible for general oversight of the Stormwater Services Department. Citizen communication and a customer service orientation is an organization priority. Responsibilities would include but not be limited to, supervising staff, administering and monitoring the departmental budget, administering City Stormwater ordinances, recommending and administering stormwater regulations to meet federal and state regulations, reviewing subdivision and site developments to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations to include stormwater management and sediment control. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Positions in this class typically require a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with course work in hydrology and five to seven years of engineering experience and ability to perform complex design and analysis of stormwater conveyance systems; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Licensing Requirements: valid North Carolina Driver’s License; North Carolina Professional Engineering License.
