Staffing Specialist
The Staffing Specialist holding this position:
Plans, organizes, develops and recommends nationwide staffing and recruitment policies, procedures, and guidelines for USCIS,
The Staffing Specialist shall have knowledge in all aspects of Federal personnel staffing to ensure consideration and selection of the best-qualified candidates for position vacancies,
They shall perform special projects that include fact-finding and research, analysis, policy and guidelines development, and inter-program coordination,
They shall have experience initiating, developing, analyzing, interpreting and executing innovative staffing and recruitment, applicant assessment and selection strategies
They shall have experience in planning and executing actions with minimal supervision to ensure vacancies are filled in accordance with OPM, departmental, and agency regulations and procedures,
They must provide assistance to other HR specialist or assistants concerning staffing and recruitment issues,
They shall be able to demonstrate the ability to use automated systems and word processing programs,
They shall be familiar with Reduction in Force (RIF) procedures and qualification requirements, and
They will plan and execute actions with minimum supervision.
Experience Requirements:
Shall have a minimum of five (5) years of experience within the area of assignment. Must have had experience working with Federal Goverment. Postions requires some travel.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
They must be knowledgeable of Federal position staffing and recruitment regulations, rules and policies,
They must be a technical expert in the development and analyses of staffing and recruitment policy, procedures, and guidelines and related matters/areas
They shall provide expert interpretation and advice on recruitment, qualifications, applicant assessment and selection policy and the development of staffing and recruitment strategies to ensure effective application of policies, and
They must be knowledgeable of automated systems and word processing programs.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree of equivalent (preferred)
