FPMI is seeking a Senior Retirement and Benefits Specialist for a temporary assignment in Boston and Philadelphia. Work will be on an as-needed basis. No travel or per diem.
This assignment requires a high level of expertise to provide accurate and timely retirement and benefits counseling for employees considering retirement. Tasks include preparing retirement benefit estimates, preparing retirement applications with supporting documentation and answering all questions related to benefits eligibility such as health and life insurance. Also included is identifying cases eligible for relief under the Federal Erroneous Retirement Coverage Act (FERCCA) and taking corrective measures as specified under current OPM, Benefit Administration Letters.
This position which requires at least 3 years of experience performing retirement counseling, preparing a variety of retirement benefits estimates/applications and handling retirement cases related to FERCCA. In-depth knowledge of CSRS, FERS and law enforcement and firefighter 6 c provisions, knowledge of Federal employee benefits programs, including TSF, FEHB, FEGLI as well as computer skills is required.
