GS is committed to force protection, from the current force to the future force, and from vehicle systems to individual soldiers. GS provides combat vehicle systems in major vehicle families - Bradley, M88, AAV, M113, M109 and M9 - that fulfill more than 20 different current force mission roles. As military forces confront threats around the world, GS is supporting the current force with vital enhancements to existing systems and offering new solutions to rapidly meet essential customer needs. As a key member of the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) Team, GS will help ensure the future success of U.S. soldiers on the battlefield developing and demonstrating five Manned Ground Vehicles that are part of the family of systems for FCS, including support for the Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon in 2008. GS fulfils another key role on FCS as the developer of the Armed Robotic Vehicle in two variants. These critical weapons will be the first in a new line of combat vehicles and systems that will empower soldiers through unmatched firepower, situational awareness and survivability. GS is also developing and delivering integrated survivability technologies from body armor inserts to active protection systems that provide a new level of soldier survivability and combat vehicle performance. Assists in the preparation of license applications and agreements and monitoring the export and import of technical data, hardware, and services in accordance with company policy and U.S. Government export regulations and laws. Prepares, submits and administers export licenses (International Traffic in Arms [ITAR] and Export Administration Regulations [EAR]), Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLA), Temporary Admission (ATA) Carnets, import certificates and miscellaneous correspondence to BAE Systems Inc. for submittal to the Department of State and Department of Commerce, and BATF. Supervises the submittals of junior staff members. Statuses licenses in-process and pending at the Department of State via Internet. Maintains license files as well as a database of current and expired license files, and issues reports on pending and approved licenses/approvals such as ITAR Exemptions, etc. Identifies risk areas and take corrective action. Performs and supervises the audits of junior staff members. Coordinates with program personnel to gather detailed information, review proposals, contracts and/or purchase orders and participates in technical programmatic discussion/meetings for all LOB products. Ensures that program personnel are aware of the limits of each license. Supervises and ensures that program objectives are met. Support sShipping/Traffic in the export/import of ITAR/EAR hardware, software and/or technical data as appropriate. When necessary, acts as a liaison between Shipping/ Purchasing Foreign Party and/or US government to ensure paperwork meets Customs requirements, including ATF import requirements as appropriate. Investigates and correct shipments that are held/seized by Customs and develop corrective action plan/processes as required. Ensures recordkeeping requirements are disseminated throughout LOB and being adhered to. Supervises staff recordkeeping. Stays abreast of regulatory updates and changes as they affect export/import requirements. Attend various training seminars (in house, outside sources and self-study) and actively participate in various government roundtable discussions, committees and organizations as appropriate. Supervise training of junior staff members. Reviews and approves Foreign Visitor and International Travel authorization. When required, reviews all presentation/briefing and other information provided to foreign visitors for compliance with licenses and regulations prior to release outside the company. Provides guidance on what data is allowed to be presented to the foreign visitor and what restrictions may apply. Supervises the review of junior staff members. Provides assistance to Company personnel on export related questions. Ensures appropriate program personnel are provided with provisos on licenses and agreements to ensure business and customer requirements can be met by the license or agreement. Supports, oversee and administer the development of training plans and schedules. If approved by BAE Systems, Inc. and the LOB Export Manager, will function as a designated "empowered official" per the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), to provide required certifications to the U.S. State Department Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC). Work is performed with virtually no supervision. Exercises considerable latitude in establishing priorities, determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
