Sr. Oracle 11i Application DBA

We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced, highly professional, senior Oracle 11i Applications Database Administrator (Apps DBA) to join our technical development teams supporting a wide range of Oracle 11i Applications modules. Selected candidate will be the lead Apps DBA and have a share of DBA responsibilities with other Apps DBAs and teammates that support production environments that operates 24x6. Will be responsible for planning, installing, configuring, implementing, backing up, cloning, troubleshooting, maintaining, patching and tuning several Oracle 11i production systems. Will lead tasks to architect, design, manage, and administer large Oracle 11i deployments including integration with Oracle Portal and Oracle AS10g at an enterprise-wide level supporting thousands of users worldwide. The environments are clustered and replicated for failover and business continuity. This position involves frequent customer contact. In addition, the Apps DBA will be responsible for following our Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model – Integrated (CMMI) and ITIL practices, such as participating in peer reviews, reporting your activities regularly, and supporting quality assurance audits and interviews. Will attend technical meetings, use a web collaboration tool to store documents and report your bi-weekly accomplishments, and occasionally support customer meetings. Required Skills: Bachelors degree, Master’s degree preferred. Must have at least 10 years of related experience to include, experience as an Oracle 11i Apps DBA with proven history of successful deployment and support of 11i instances at an enterprise level. Must have expertise at the highest levels on Oracle 11i administration, tuning and optimization. Ability to install/configure/maintain Oracle 11i upgrades and patches in a heterogeneous Linux and HP-UX environments. Proven ability to integrate the entire Oracle 11i technology stack including Oracle Portal, AS10g, SSO, OID, Forms/Reports, etc. Must have experience configuring middle-tier servers in a clustered configuration from performance and redundancy. Must have experience configuring software and/or hardware load balancing for middle tier servers. Experience working in an IT Center with hundreds of servers attached to a SAN. Proven ability to lead a technical team through installation and configuration while maintaining strict configuration management (CM). Desired Skills: Experience with Oracle 10g Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle 10g Application Server (AS10g) administration; BigIP for hardware load balancing; configuring middle-tier servers using a shared APPL_TOP; and configuring Oracle databases with EMC SAN arrays desired.
