JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible for ensuring the business unit success of assigned facility is achieved through manufacturability cost and designs, maintaining efficient quality policies and objectives to maintain optimum production output PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluate designs for manufacturability and perform make vs. buy decisions Evaluate costs and types of components manufactured via outside vendor sources and recommend which components to manufacture in house Assist in establishing shop cost calculations for sale proposals and production processes Develop strategies to integrate functions such as Design Engineering and Purchasing with Production to improve product quality, cost, throughput and development cycle time Responsible for compliance with all applicable export laws and regulations, including but not limited to US Department of State (ITAR) and US Department of Commerce (EAR) regulations Ensure compliance with federal and state laws Minimum Education and Experience Required: BS in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience required. Value process experience is a must.
