Senior Systems Engineering Analyst
Assists with the administration of scientific, engineering and computer application systems; execution of design, debugging, training, documentation and maintenance; expertise in, and knowledge of, troubleshooting computer related problems. These functions will be key elements in the operation and maintenance of the District’s new SCADA environment, which is currently supported by the SCADA and Instrumentation Management Division. Specifically, support the operation and maintenance of the current telemetry systems, Telvent OASyS database and other associated SCADA and Hydro applications and databases. Provide telemetry information systems support on enterprise-wide projects. Work in collaboration with other technical staff and members of the user community to determine user requirements and ensure customer satisfaction with application and database functionality. This position will support the Water Management SCADA System, which supports the meteorological and hydrologic monitoring and control instrumentation infrastructure throughout the District, such as the Everglades Restoration, the Stormwater Treatment Areas (STAs), Everglades Agricultural Area and Everglades Regulatory Programs, operations of the Central & South Florida system and Lake Okeechobee Estuary Recovery. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. Knowledge of control and instrumentation technologies and databases and their operation and maintenance support. Six (6) years of professional experience in applications programming and database management is required. Specific knowledge and experience relating to Telvent OASyS and District water management control procedures is desired. Valid State of Florida driver’s license.
