Network Systems' broad technical expertise includes transmission systems integration, wideband networking radio systems, guidance and navigation, identification, and airborne ground-based software development. Leveraging its knowledge of signals, and data derived from signals, it has achieved a market-leading position in advanced information technology research, intelligence analysis and production, geospatial exploitation software, geospatial data production, and the architecture, design, development, and integration of knowledge-based systems. BAE Systems AIT is a fast growing, entrepreneurial organization that develops state-of-the-art data fusion technologies, components and systems for customers including Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Security Agency (NSA), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). The FIST directorate leverages the technologies developed across BAE AIT to build and integrate automated information systems. These systems exploit raw data received from myriad different sensors and intelligence sources located on the ground, on manned aircraft and UAV's, and on ships and other platforms. Our systems then use that information to provide a clear, complete, concise picture of an area under surveillance, identify objects and activity in that area, detect and alert to aberrant behavior, and dynamically task available platforms and assets to collect information or respond to emerging threats. Applications of our technology include space, land, air, and maritime surveillance systems, IED detection systems, insurgent detection and tracking, border patrol, and long-range strike systems. Our projects span the entire spectrum from early-stage research-and-development prototypes to operationally-fielded systems. To support its system design and integration efforts, the FIST directorate also develops innovative simulation, analysis, and visualization tools.
