Provide technical support and leadership to purchasing, manufacturing, design engineering, and suppliers for assigned commodities, projects, and programs to assist in meeting cost, quality, cycle time, inventory and delivery objectives. Pursue an active self-training program on value analysis techniques, supplier and internal shop manufacturing methods and processes, pricing analysis, financial systems, and proposal and cost estimating practices. Utilize these skills to develop, implement, and measure plans and programs necessary to achieve business objectives. Provide cost estimates for purchased materials and support negotiations as needed. Assist suppliers with quality manufacturability and technical concerns. Support new business development and introduction. Participate in program and design reviews. Provide leadership in executing supply chain improvements. Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other engineering degree. 5-years managing contracts for fabricated or/electro mechanical commodities. 2 - 5 years experience in utilizing Lean Manufacturing Techniques. Drive bill of material and process changes that improve speed and component availability. Provide cost estimates for purchased materials and support negotiations as needed. Assist suppliers with manufacturability problems and technical concerns. Support new business development and introduction. Participate in program and design reviews. Provide leadership in executing supply chain improvements. Excellent communication skills. Strong problem resolution, decision making and influencing skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to do extensive travel to supplier(s) sites (50%+). Continuous Improvement methodology. Experience managing supplier quality. Lean Manufacturing Techniques. FAA/AS9100 knowledge. Oracle business system experience. Project management skills. CPM or CPIM certifications are preferred. Knowledge of Six Sigma techniques.
