Senior Marketing Manager- Range Operations
Systems Division provides select Government, commercial, and international customers value-added, total worldwide systems solutions for their air and missile defense, air traffic control, communications, command and control, range, spacelift, surveillance, and force protection needs, as well as full logistics support services for facilities and equipment. POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the development of new business and for the retention and expansion of existing contracts in strategically defined business segments in Range Operations. Cooperatively interacts with all internal organizations within ITT Corporation and develops a broad customer base in defined market areas. Provides independent and in-depth assessment/viewpoint relating to new business/follow-on pursuits for senior staff of ITT Systems.MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:1. Maintains strict compliance with ITT policies and procedures relating to Business Ethics and Code of Conduct, in addition to the specific procurement regulations established by the Federal Government.2. Establishes and maintains knowledge of ITT System Divisions lines of business and strategic directions.3. Develops short and long range plans for penetration/expansion of potential programs in Range Operations.4. Assists in the development of the ITT Systems Division overall strategic/regional/ operations plans and departmental plans relating to Program pursuits and provides input for prioritization.5. Coordinates closely with Operations and Business Area personnel to manage, identify and pursue potential expansion and/or follow-on business within existing and developing business areas in the designated region.6. Evaluates business opportunities and recommends bid/no bid positions.7. Participates in the preparation of capture plans detailing the win strategy, discriminators, price to win estimates, and action plans to be followed by the Capture Team.8. Maintains an awareness of industry capabilities and recommends, where appropriate, business relationships such as teaming, joint ventures and/or subcontracting.9. Assesses and reports on competitor activities, capabilities, perceived strategies and new developments within the area of interest.10. Establishes and maintains effective liaison/interface at various levels within the customer community, including Government agencies, industry primes and subcontractors.11. Interfaces with other ITT Defense organizations to promote cooperative new business pursuits.12. Participates and advises on new business proposal efforts to ensure core competency, compliance with customer requirements and attainment of cost and budget objectives. Acts as formal review team participant where appropriate.13. Supports the development of bid and proposal estimates.14. Establishes and maintains current procurement timelines on potential and selected opportunities.15. Recommends the use of consultants where appropriate and maintains regular interface on programs where employed.16. Participates in selected Government/Industry Associations and Government briefing to Industry.17. Provides additional business development support as may be required in pursuit of company business objectives.18. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Bachelors Science Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or technical disciplines appropriate for the ITT Systems' markets.Experience: A minimum of ten years experience in general management with substantial exposure to marketing and marketing support activities. At least three years should have been in a position directly related to business development for DOD or other international customers, preferably in the Range market. Should have a good understanding of government procurement, Federal government contracts, regulations and procedures, and government operations and maintenance services.
