SYSTEM SAFETY ENGINEER

SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:   

Responsible for system safety program efforts on moderate to complex development programs that include both hardware and software development.  Responsibilities will include conducting and/or coordinating hazard analyses, participating in appropriate development teams to influence design in the area of safety, and developing and/or defining safety requirements for both hardware and software subsystems.  Will be responsible for preparing and/or supervising the development of program deliverable documents, reviewing and coordinating subcontractor safety efforts, and for coordinating the verification and validation of hazard controls.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.   

At least 5 years experience in engineering is required. 

A BS degree in engineering and at least 3 years experience in system safety is highly desirable.  Familiarity with tracked vehicles and the BFV product line is highly desirable. 

Experience in a software environment and/or electronics is highly desirable programs that include both hardware and software development.
