SQL Server DBA (SMS experience, MCSA, CompTIA Security+)
Crown-IT is seeking well qualified candidates for the following contract-to-hire position located in Richmond, VA.
US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED. CANDIDATE MUST HAVE DoD SECRET OR TOP SECRET CLEARANCE.
MCSA and CompTIA Secruity+ certifications are required.
· Microsoft SQL Database Administrator for six standalone SQL 2005 servers and one SQL 2005 cluster; about 50 databases for various applications.
o Support of SQL application and databases including installation, configuration, management, upgrading, patching, capacity planning maintaining security, importing/exporting data, backups/restores, executing SQL queries, troubleshooting connectivity issues, adding/removing users, setting user permission, attaching/detaching databases
· Administration of Microsoft System Management Server 2003 used to deploy software, service packs and patches to 3500 client desktops/laptops.
o Administration of SMS includes installing/upgrading SMS application, configuration of SMS site server and distribution servers, creating collections, packages, programs and advertisements, creating/running queries to provide software inventory and hardware changes, troubleshooting
· Use repackaging techniques (SMS Installer, .MSI conversion, executable wrappers, etc.) and advanced registry modifications to develop software distribution packages compatible with desktops for deployment via Microsoft SMS and login scripts
· Evaluation, integration and configuration of Microsoft Windows XP workstations, Microsoft Windows 2003 servers, associated peripherals and a variety of off-the-shelf applications while adhering to and maintaining organizational and security standards
· Assist in administration of Microsoft Windows Server Update Services Server used for Microsoft application patch management
· Knowledge of Active Directory
· Knowledge of Citrix to provide support as needed
· Develop documentation of SMS and SQL servers and software products
· Provide technical support and assist managing projects with Govt staff and other contractors
