The selected candidate will edit, format, rewrite, and proofread contract deliverables including engineering reports, trip reports regarding Navy vessels and facilities, monthly service engineering reports, Capability Maturity Model documents, Government letters, memoranda, quarterly reports, and Technical Feedback Report correspondence. He/she will monitor a commonly shared email box for incoming work and log the items in an Excel spreadsheet. The selected candidate will work with a variety of engineers, technicians, logisticians, managers, and customers and function on a team of other technical editors, drafters, and management analysts. In addition, he/she will work with other editors and drafters to prepare and revise major Combat ID operation and maintenance manuals. The position requires familiarity with MIL-DTL-24784, MIL-STD-38784, SECNAVINST 5216.5D, and local command directives. This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
