QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Forest Management from an accredited college (must attach transcript) and one year of work experience in forestry or rural, forest-based real estate management; must obtain and maintain appraiser license within one year after being hired; experience working with computers; valid drivers license; successfully pass a physical examination and complete a pre-placement screen, contingent upon a job offer.

 

Ability to read and explain maps, use aerial photos for use in determining land ownership and valuation; ability to prepare written appraisal reports; good verbal, writing, and human relations skills to work with customers and other government officials.  Ability to work well with others; ability and willingness to follow rules and procedures; ability and willingness to follow directives from supervisors.  Must be meticulous and accurate in preparation and review of documents.  Knowledge of contracts, leases, deeds, classification and description of property, search and examination of titles and appraisals sufficient to perform simple and complex real estate valuations, negotiations and coordination services; knowledge of real estate laws, rules and regulations governing acquisition and land exchange, leases, etc.; knowledge of appraisal methodology and techniques and the effect of social, economic, political and physical forces on real estate valuations sufficient to prepare valid appraisals.

 





Preference will be given for additional education (must attach transcript) and/or work experience, beyond the minimum requirements credited above;  work experience with GIS; real estate license (must attach copy); appraisal license (must attach copy), broker license (must attach copy); work experience negotiating, coordinating and appraising real estate transactions for a government agency and/or private agency.
