Overhead Crane Electrician

Government contractor with a proven reputation for providing excellence in service and product is seeking to fill a field position as an Overhead Crane Electrician.  The person selected for this position will work hands-on with our existing field personnel in the performance of equipment troubleshooting, upgrades, new installations, etc.

 

Experience with 3 phase motors, motor controls and related troubleshooting procedures is desired.  Work will involve cranes with 3 phase motors, motor controls, VFD, motor repairs, mechanical repairs, and planned maintenance.

A clean driving record is a must with a willingness to obtain a Class A CDL.  Travel is required, all travel expenses are paid by employer.

Salary is based on experience, education, knowledge, and ambition.  

Duties include, but are not limited to:

* Ensures operation of electrical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance  programmable controllers, transformers, voltage regulators, and machinery wiring; following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams,  and other specifications; troubleshooting.

* Installs new equipment by installing power supply wiring and conduit to and between machines and equipment; using hand tools and test equipment.

* Repairs electrical systems and equipment by diagnosing malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, etc; determining faulty wiring; inspecting and testing malfunctioning machinery.

* Repairs and replaces faulty electrical components by using testing equipment and hand tools to install relays, switches, motors, printed circuit boards, and position-sensing devices.

* Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
