This position is responsible for the architecture, implementation and support of an Oracle Application Server (OAS) enterprise environment within Seattle City Light's IT Services Division and for applications and databases with Citywide scope. The opportunity is ideal for the technician/architect who is experienced in OAS administration and enterprise solution design, planning and implementation and who can provide organizational leadership during technology transformation.

 

Additional responsibilities include optimizing OAS current and future state architecture and configuration, implementing an integration model, including governance, interface definition, message exchange protocols, and guiding principles for segregating applications, data, and services.  This position will operate in a complex, highly matrixed IT organization.  Broad IT exposure to key elements of network and internet security, application development, application lifecycle management, information architecture, database administration, project management, and strategic IT planning are a must.   

 

Additional responsibilities include developing OAS standards and best practices, mentoring IT staff on OAS design principles, developing appropriate security measures, and providing integration to business solutions.

 

Required qualifications include a Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related fields or comparable combination of training and experience and 5 years of progressing database or Middleware experience and related functions supporting the large database applications in the client server or similar environments.

 

Desired qualifications include expert experience in OAS technical experience, experience with enterprise data dictionary creation, maintenance and/or data governance, experience with management and/or integration of databases with multiple department scope, experience as technical lead who has managed a technical transition in the IT environment, experience in an Oracle Application Server environment, experience in database administration, Oracle Forms, and Oracle Reports.
