The NYC Early Childhood Professional Development Institute (PDI) is a fast-paced, dynamic public/private partnership that works to ensure that all early childhood practitioners have access to a comprehensive system of professional development. The ideal candidate will be a productive member of our team and will possess a genuine interest in furthering the work of the organization.

 

The Office Assistant will provide secretarial and administrative support to the staff of the PDI.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:



Reporting to the Administrative Associate, the Office Assistant will:

Provide secretarial and administrative support, including but not limited to: Maintaining information systems/databases Generating reports Managing large scale mailings Assisting with the management of program hotlines Preparing meeting materials, taking minutes, and disseminating minutes in a timely fashion. Assisting with the execution of workshops, meetings, and conferences

Other duties as assigned by the Administrative Associate and/or leadership team.

 

Qualifications:

 

Minimum requirements for the position: Associate’s degree preferred; at least two years of secretarial or administrative experience Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and demanding work environment as part of an administrative team Excellent time management and telephone skills Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required (knowledge of additional programs a plus) Strong written and oral communication skills required. Strong organizational skills Ability to work with diverse ethnic and cultural organizations and individuals Spanish speaker required

  

Salary: $25,000-$28,000 DOE
