DescriptionStaff member will support HQ USAF/A3/5N’s mission of being the focal point for developmnent o the USAF Nuclear Enterprise and day-to-day operation of USAF nuclear forces. Within this mission area, individual will support AF/A3/5N action officers on developing operational guidance and organizational relationships for nuclear forces, and related organizations and units; developing and articulating inputs to, and positions on, Air Force and higher level requirements, objectives, and plans for structuring and employing nuclear forces and related C4I systems; supporting the Air Force lead for nuclear planning, evaluation and training; and the Nuclear Weapons Requirements Working Group.Required SkillsExpertise will include familiarity with U.S. nuclear forces and strategy, stockpile lifecycle and stewardship, and the Air Force nuclear community. Individual must have program management experience is areas related to USAF nuclear weapon systems and programs. Must possess a top secret clearance and computer proficiency working with Microsoft Office suite of programs. Individual must be able to develop official memorandums, memos for records, position papers, etc., in US Air Force format. Individual must be able to develop PowerPoint presentations using standard US Air Force format. Must be able to anticipate customer needs and requirements. Must be adaptable to work high-pressure deadlines and support immediate taskings in an ever-changing environment.Required ExperienceKnowledge of HQ AF/SAF/Joint Staff/OSD organizational relationships. Experience with AF nuclear weapon systems operations and policies. Operational experience supporting Air Force nuclear mission is also highly desired. Advanced understanding of nuclear deterrence and national strategy related to nuclear weapons, understanding of the NC2 environment, the Capabilities Review and Risk Assessment (CRRA) process with an understanding of AF nuclear operations environment (rated or ICBM) is necessary.
