NETWORK SUPPORT ANALYST III

A career opportunity is available with the City of Burbank, a thriving municipality in the greater Los Angeles area of Southern California.  We are seeking a skilled Network Support Analyst to provide comprehensive and complex technical support in one or more areas of networking including design, disaster recovery and capacity planning, network security, complex server and network configuration and administration.  Responsibilities include developing and recommending procedures for network management and resource allocation; analyzing network resource utilization and implementing short-term solutions; installing and tuning network software; identifying and recommending appropriate changes to network infra-structure to improve performance, reliability or availability; reviewing the work of others; resolving complex network problems; performing high level network support functions including advanced network analysis, Internet Protocol (IP) administration, network documentation and Virtual Private Network (VPN) administration; and ensuring network security.




This challenging position requires any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to three years experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, upgrading, monitoring and evaluating network performance OR one year as a Network Support Analyst II and college work in networking from an accredited university. A valid CA Class “C” driver’s license is required at time of appointment. The following current industry recognized certifications may be required at time of appointment: MCSE or CCNP or CCDP or ENS PLUS Network+ or CCNA or CCDA or ENA or Security+ or VCP or CISSP or JNCIA or JNCIS.  (Candidates with a CCNP or CCDP cannot use the CCNA or CCDA as the secondary certification.  Candidates with an ENS cannot use the ENA as a secondary certification.) 



Base salary is $5,938 to $7,214 per month plus excellent benefits including City-contributed retirement program.
