This position will perform maintenance and repair of automotive and armament equipment. Works under general supervision and guidance. The essential job functions include responsibility for performing the full range of work involved in the inspection, repair, testing, modification, and overhaul of automotive and fire control equipment; ability to apply broad practical knowledge of operation and installation of all components, assemblies, and systems of vehicles; is expected to accomplish assignments within the limits of established policies, shop practices, and accepted trade to insure acceptable techniques. Performs work in accordance with technical manuals and similar published procedures. Duties include removal, installation, modification, cleaning, adjusting, and repair of major automotive assemblies; perform general support and limited depot-level repair and overhaul of major assemblies and components; and comply with published standards. Work is typically performed in a well-lighted and ventilated area; however, work may be performed outdoors subject to inclement weather conditions. Will be required to perform housekeeping of work areas and may be assigned to support contract support requirements in a job-related are such as environmental, safety, and security. May be cross-utilized in other job areas. Will be required to report to work all USAG-HI sites, that you will be expected to work overtime periodically when required, and that your regular work hours may, with proper notification, be adjusted to include shift work to meet contract requirements. This position is located in Hawaii. Relocation assistance is not available. Must have special training through vocational or military schooling or at least three (3) years of recent relevant experience. Able to obtain a Federal Government Drivers License, currently possess a current valid state drivers license. Able to obtain and maintain a material handling equipment certification. Able to lift objects weighting up to 50 pounds. Able to obtain and maintain a favorable security background check. May be required to report to work all USAG-HI sites, will be expected to work overtime periodically as required and regular work hours may be adjusted, to include shift work, to meet contract requirements.
