Marketing Manager- Europe and Africa
Systems Division provides select Government, commercial, and international customers value-added, total worldwide systems solutions for their air and missile defense, air traffic control, communications, command and control, range, spacelift, surveillance, and force protection needs, as well as full logistics support services for facilities and equipment. POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible to develop new business, support the expansion of ITT contracts in strategically defined business segments within this area. Collaboratively interacts with all internal ITT organizational elements. Develops a broad customer base in the market areas defined below while identifying potential and appropriate subcontractors and other sources of support. Provides the Senior Staff of ITT Systems independent, detailed assessments and viewpoints related to new business and follow-on pursuits.Operating from ITT's European Business Operations Center (EBOC) in Viernheim, Germany, provides services to the following customer base as a minimum: 'NATO'USEUCOM'USAREUR'USAFE 'DOS'USAID'NAVFAC Europe'Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA (FMS)'European Union Nations 'AFRICOM 'African Nations MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:1. Maintains compliance with ITT Policies and Procedures relating to Business Ethics and Code of Conduct, in addition to the specific procurement regulations established by the Federal Government. Complies with ITT internal ITAR policies.2. Supports and maintains knowledge of ITT Systems lines of business, core competencies, and strategic directions.3. Actively utilizes all ITT Systems processes by following schedule requirements for Milestone forms, populating appropriate planning documents, and ensuring compliance with all policy and procedure folders located at http://itts/policies.aspx4. Develops short and long range plans for the penetration and/or expansion of potential programs within this area.5. Assists in the development of the ITT Systems overall strategic/regional/operations plans and departmental plans relating to Program pursuits and provides input for prioritization.6. Coordinates closely with Operations and Business Area personnel to manage, identify and pursue potential expansion and/or follow-on business within existing and developing business areas in the region.7. Evaluates business opportunities and recommends bid/no bid positions8. Participates in the preparation of capture plans detailing the win strategy, discriminators, price to win estimates, and action plans to be followed by the Capture Team.9. Maintains an awareness of industry trends, capabilities, and where appropriate recommends business relationships such as teaming, joint ventures and/or subcontracting.10. Assesses and reports on competitor activities, capabilities, perceived strategies and new developments within the area of interest.11. Establishes and maintains effective liaison/interface at various levels within the customer community, including Government agencies, industry primes and subcontractors.12. Interfaces with other ITT Defense organizations to promote cooperative new business pursuits.13. Participates and advises on new business proposal efforts to ensure core competency, compliance with customer requirements, and attainment of cost and budget objectives. Acts as formal review team member when appropriate.14. Supports the development of bid and proposal estimates by providing accurate and useful As-Is data from which preliminary estimates can be created.15. Establishes and maintains current procurement timelines on potential and selected opportunities.16. Recommends the use of consultants or technical representatives, where appropriate, and maintains regular interface on programs where such resources are employed.17. Participates in selected Government/Industry Associations and Government briefings to Industry.18. Provides additional business development support as may be required in pursuit of company business objectives.19. Maintains cognizance of and forwards information and makes recommendations to ITT Senior Staff with respect to the Local, Regional, International political situation within this functional area.20. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or other technical disciplines appropriate to ITT Systems markets.Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years experience in general management with substantial exposure to marketing and marketing support activities, at least three (3) years of which were in a position directly related to business development for state and federal agencies or other international customers, preferably within this area. Should have a good understanding of Government procurement, federal Government contracting, regulations and procedures, and Government operations and maintenance services.
