The analyst plans, directs and participates in highly diversified comprehensive analytical studies, research and consulting assignments requiring a high level of expertise in the evaluation and analysis of DOD policy, planning, budgets and procurements as they change. Recruits, develops, and supervises a core group of analysts and researchers to support the Operating Group and Lines of Business with Market Environment assessment and other needs. These needs may be annual business environment assessment, competitor analysis, support to: executive decision making, M&A, business Gap Analysis, strategic planning, capture strategies, Price to Win, etc. Satisfies intelligence needs by exploiting both formal and informal networks of BAE Systems employees, in addition to using traditional primary and secondary sources. Develops interactive relationships with management, consultants, forward deployed representatives, business development managers and directors, and tool/service providers. Provides guidance and direction to database researchers and analysts. Interacts with Line of Business Market Intelligence leads to identify, prioritize, and deliver the Market Intelligence results the enterprise needs. Protects the company competitive position by assuring that market information is collected in accordance with BAE Systems ethical and legal standards. Travel Requirement up to 15%.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages a virtual core group of analysts and researchers to get the job done Supervise the core team's development and activities, and provide leadership in the Market Intelligence endeavors Provides market analysis from data collected. This means actual information and knowledge creation. Provides analysis of DOD market environment, trends, and relationships among policy, planning, budget and procurement Interfaces effectively with business area, line of business and operating group management, research analysts, customers, business development managers, proposal/program managers and systems engineers to ensure that customer market drivers are correctly interpreted, addressed, satisfied and exploited better than our competitors Provides direction, training and guidance to other levels of research and database investigators and analysts. Assures that information is collected according to BAE Systems Inc. ethical standards and guidelines, and prevents compromise of the company?s competitive position. Interfaces with U.S. government agencies and organizations, and industry and professional associations to maintain accuracy of data base and knowledge of current and projected opportunity/threat developments. Assists in the procurement or development of information infrastructure capabilities Develops process for the team and the enterprise to assure real, quality market intelligence is created and delivered to the enterprise in a timely and efficient fashion. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Requires a Bachelor's Degree, in some cases with a preference for technical fields, and a minimum of twelve (12) years experience in relevant DOD or industry business development, planning and analysis; or a Master's Degree and ten (10) years experience; or a Ph.D. with seven (7) years experience. Participation in aerospace industry defense associations or professional competitive intelligence organizations will be an asset. For many forums, a SECRET clearance will be required. For Intel fields, a current SCI access is a plus.
